French Leave Resort is located on the island of Eleuthera, which was settled nearly 400 years ago but remains largely pristine. It is a long skinny island averaging only a mile wide and 110 miles in length. And guests of French Leave Resort are in luck – they get the best of both worlds on the island.
Governor’s Harbour side of the resort offers an ever-changing array of colors from emerald green to deep blue as the sun and clouds move across the sky and the ocean deepens. This is your view while enjoying the vista from your villa or a dip in the pool. The harbor is also where you’ll find kayaks and paddle boards from which to explore the historic Governor’s Harbor. The docks are often home to magnificent yachts that visit for the day or stay for a week. For nature’s nightly entertainment, it is here on the deck at 1648 where you’ll make a toast to the day while enjoying our breathtaking Eleuthera sunsets.
On the other side of the island is French Leave Beach. Turquoise and tranquil, the beach is where you’ll adventure off to in your own golf cart provided by the resort. There, you’ll be greeted by miles of pink sand and translucent cerulean water. While taking in the breathtaking scenery, go ahead and lounge, read, swim or beach-comb for shells. And don’t be surprised by the island osprey or the crab scurrying into a hole in the pink sand from a tangle of brown seaweed.
